Q: I have a small business; do I really need a website?

worldsworstwebsiteA: That is a good question. That is one of the most frequently asked questions we get. Even if your business is small and sells products or services that you think cannot be sold online the answer is yes, without a doubt, and I will tell you why. First don't be so quick to think your product cannot be sold online. In this era of the internet age there is very little that can't be sold online. People every day are buying everything from books to cars to real estate to natural gas.

The most recent statistics I have read states 80% of individuals aged 32-44 buy products on the internet. 72% of people aged 55-64 and 71% of 18-32 year olds also purchase items through the internet. All age groups combined 71% of all U.S. adults shop online. Some other interesting facts, 91% email, 81% research, 68% make travel reservations and 32% read blogs. What do these statistics tell us? The internet is growing and becoming the main source of almost everything we do.

It is not good enough to just have a website. You must have a professional-looking website if you wish to be taken seriously. Since most consumers now search for information online before making a purchase at a brick-and-mortar store your site may be the first chance you have at making a good first impression to a potential buyer. If your site looks like it was designed by an amateur your chance at making that good first impression will be lost.
A great thing about the internet is it has leveled the playing field when it comes to competing with the big boys. As mentioned before you have one shot at making a great first impression. With a well-designed website by Webman Design, LLC your company, whether little or not, can project the image and professionalism of a much larger company. The opposite is also true. I have seen many big company websites that were very badly designed and hard to navigate. Good for you, too bad for them.

It doesn't matter if you are a small operation that only has one person or a company that has 10,000 employees; if you don't have a website, you are losing business to other companies that do.

There is always an exception to a rule. It is better to have no website at all than to have one that makes your business look bad. Your site speaks hugely about your business. It either says, "Look at us, we take or business so seriously we have created this awesome website for our customers!" or it hollers, "Hey look, I let an amateur design my website."

Your website is a crucial part of your business. Make sure you treat it as such. Call Webman Design, LLC today at 920-855-1888 and we will get your professional website up and running in no time flat.
